I am pleased to announce that I will be presenting my session Case Studies in Lab Design: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, at the 2017 annual meeting of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) in San Diego, CA in July, 2017. I am excited about having the opportunity to speak again at an ASCLS Annual Meeting and look forward to this great opportunity to share my experience working with multiple different laboratories to discuss keys to efficient laboratory design and staff movement. Here’s the summary:
Through presentation of photos and blueprints, and utilizing group discussion and breakouts into work groups, attendees will review examples of laboratory design from several different hospital laboratories. For each example we will discuss what type of design works well and what could be done to improve specimen flow, and individual and overall laboratory staff efficiency.
