The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) have announced that they have formed a task force to investigate opportunities for collaboration between the two organizations. Members of both organizations received an email on April 7, 2011 from their respective Presidents with the following message:
We are pleased to announce that the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) have formed a task force, the CLMA ASCLS Strategic Alliance (CASA), to explore all levels of collaboration for the activities central to the mission and vision of each organization. Sarina Rodriques, DirectorMarcia Armstrong and Rodney Forsman are co-chairing the group. The primary objective of this task force is to produce a report about the long term, future strategic options for each organization. The goal is to have the report ready to present to the Boards in July.
I have been asked to serve on the task force and I am looking forward to working with the group to identify areas in which the two organizations can collaborate.
